WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos to defend titles against RybAxel on Raw

n the wake of an action-packed edition of SmackDown, WWE.com has learned that WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos will defend their illustrious titles against Ryback & Curtis Axel this Monday on Raw at 8/7 CT on the USA Network. In addition to a recent romp through the tag team division by the newly named No. 1 contenders, the intriguing title contest comes on the heels of The Usos losing back-to-back singles contests to their challengers — Jimmy fell to Ryback on this week’s episode of “WWE Main Event,” while Jey was defeated by Axel on SmackDown. Will the high-flying Samoan Superstars succeed in another title defense as their reign nears two months? Or, will RybAxel follow up their impressive singles victories over the champions by capturing WWE’s twin titles? Tune in to Raw this Monday at 8/7 CT on USA Network to find out!

Daniel Bryan injury update

After falling victim to three Tombstone Piledrivers at the hands of Kane on Raw, Daniel Bryan was diagnosed with a cervical cord neurapraxia — a contusion of the spinal cord which results in numbness and tingling sensations in the arms, WWE.com has learned. Following the attack, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion was stretchered from the ringside area and rushed to the trainer’s room, where he was evaluated by WWE medical personnel. According to WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann, Bryan experienced weakness and numbness in both arms, prompting further testing at a nearby medical facility. “As of the last examination, [Bryan] did have some residual weakness in his arms, however, we expect this to clear up relatively quickly,” Dr. Amann said. “Once he regains his full strength, he will be fully cleared for participation.” Bryan is currently resting at home, but has said he plans on competing next week on Raw. Bad News Barrett def. Sheamus to advance in the Intercontinental Championship No. 1 Contender’s Tournament

Bad news travels fast, and the luck of the Irish ran dry on Raw when Bad News Barrett elbowed Sheamus out of the running to face Big E for the Intercontinental Championship in the semifinals of the No. 1 Contender’s Tournament that began last week. The Irishman had promised his hooligans a “Big Bad Brogue Kick” to shut Barrett’s famous mouth and he rolled out of the gate strong to set the Brit up for just that, clobbering Barrett’s sternum with the Ten Beats of the Bodhrán and following up with the Irish Curse. Barrett’s fighter’s reflexes saved him from doom when he dodged the Brogue Kick and scooped up a ricocheting Sheamus into the Winds of Change. BALTIMORE – Out of the honeymoon, into the fire: Daniel Bryan’s time off the grid with Brie Bella came to an unceremonious end when an old friend gave him a brutal, belated gift that surely wasn’t on the registry. Bryan’s former fellow Tag Team Champion Kane proved to be the walking “something old” when the demon reared his head during the Champion of Champions’ homecoming.
